Monday in Dublin

FREEZING! What a difference a day makes!

Excellent lecture today at Dublin City University by Dr. Roderick Flynn on an overview of the Irish media. Many interesting points including the few "owners" of the print and broadcast media. Very little media in the Irish language. Lots of imports from the UK. Most papers are national or regional. City papers don't exist. No home delivery of newspapers! Irish Times is considered the paper of national recorded history. Many fascinating additional facts that provided a window into the Irish media.
